Greetings Brethren! We’d like to take this moment to wish all of you and your families a happy and healthy holiday season, and continue with a happy and prosperous New Year.
Please try to attend this meeting as Bro. George R. Barr takes his 3rd step in Masonry. It is always a pleasure to see the sidelines filled, especially on this important step in a Brother’s Masonic Path.
It is regretful to note that just prior to our November Communication, Brother George Leesam, a 52 year member of the craft passed away. Our deepest sympathies to his wife, Louise, and to his family.
Fraternally,
Simon Berbara
Master

This Masonic year ended as it began with degree work that would make any lodge proud. A team of Prospect Lodge past masters conferred the third degree on two fine men, Bro. Douglas Edward Obey and Bro. Richard Paul Wakem, son of Bro. Richard Glenn Wakem. A few years have passed since Prospect's last past master's night and hopefully it will be an annual event for years to come. It was a memorable evening for both candidates and veteran members, concluded by another heart-felt rendition of he Canadian Charge by Wor. George Fontana of Constellation Lodge.
On behalf of Wor. Bruce T. Marshall, enjoy the summer, stay safe, and see you in September!!

May was an extremely busy month, with our regular meeting and two special daylight meetings. The regular meeting on May 14 was different than most other meetings this year in that there was no regular work performed. However, there was much to do during our business meeting and two special presentations occurred during the collation. We were treated to a presentation by David Pulzetti from the Ministry for the Americas. Prospect Lodge is financially supporting his missionary work teaching Central American students how to weld, a trade which hopefully will allow them to better support themselves and family. Bro. Steve Sears had a sample of his mineral collection for viewing, a most interesting selection of natural beauty.
Two special daylight meetings, granted by dispensation from the Grand Master, were held to allow Bro. Douglas Edward Obey to receive his Fellow Craft degree and Bro. Richard Paul Wakem to receive his Entered Apprentice and Fellow Craft degrees; just in time for their Master Mason degree in June. What a year it has been!!April 9, 2007
The April meeting was a special and memorable night with Prospect Lodge’s first table lodge in several years. It was fitting that the honoree was Wor. Stanley Gaw, who has devoted many years of service to the lodge and district. Having served Prospect Lodge as Master for five terms, permanent member of the lodge trustees, and as a leader in the sixth Masonic District, it was time to recognize his devotion to the Craft. The banquet hall was filled to capacity with members and guests, and the multi-course dinner was fitting for such a momentous occasion. The lodge officers performed their work with precision and many a compliment was spoken after the festivities. A plaque of recognition was presented to Wor. Stanley by Wor. Bruce T. Marshall, followed by a photo session to capture the night.
One special moment occurred during Wor. Stanley’s thank you speech when he recognized his DeMolay Dads, all of which were in attendance, including Bro. Carl Schmidt. Carl expressed his joy with the evening’s events and returned to his home still talking about the night. With sadness we learned that two days later Bro. Carl passed to the celestial lodge above. We will all miss him and the events during the table lodge teach us that it is never too late to express gratitude to those who have touched our lives.March 12, 2007
A night to remember! Over 50 members and guests assembled to witness the raising of Bro. Brian Douglas Ryder to the sublime degree of Master Mason by his proud father, Wor. Richard H. Ryder. Wor. Rich used his father's Masonic bible, presented by Prospect Lodge in 1945, to obligate his son, who is a 4th generation Mason. Wor. George Fontana flawlessly recited the Canadian Charge to our newest Master Mason...a fine conclusion to a memorable third degree. Wor. Rich then presented his father's Masonic bible and Masonic ring to Bro. Brian, an emotional moment to say the least. The ceremony was capped by an unusual photo session where seven current and past District Deputy Grand Masters shared in the festivities by congratulating Bro. Brian and his dad in the East. During a very well attended collation many commented on the unforgettable, delicious, and 'cut with a fork' beef tenderloin dinner, compliments of the lodge. It doesn't get any better than this!! February was a busy month for Prospect Lodge with Bro. Brian Douglas Ryder passed to the degree of Fellow Craft during the regular monthly meeting, and Douglas Edward Obey taking his first Masonic step as an Entered Apprentice during a courtesy degree performed at J. Philip Berquist Lodge, Foxborough, MA. Both evenings were well attended, with fine work done by both lodges. We look forward to both candidates taking their third degrees in the coming months.

The new Masonic year got off to a memorable start with the First Degree conferred on Brian Douglas Ryder, son of Past Master, Wor. Richard H. Ryder. Bro. Brian is a fourth generation Mason. His grandfather, Bro. Elmer M. Ryder, was raised at Prospect Lodge in 1945. Wor. Rich had the pleasure of obligating his son and presenting the white lambskin apron to our newest brother. Wor. Bob Grunin, Wor. Steve Cole, Wor. Simon Berbara, and Wor. Bruce Marshall were at the top of their game and presented their usual 'flawless' ritual.

The December meeting marked two significant events...the raising of Bro. Randy Mudarri, and the election of Brian Douglas Ryder, son of Wor. Richard Ryder, to take his degrees. The third degree ritual and floor work were up to traditional Prospect Lodge standards, and although the evening was late, no one seemed to mind; especially after that delicious roast pork tenderloin dinner prepared by Raphael's Catering. The first half of Wor. Bruce's year as Master has ended on a high note and 2007 is shaping up to be a very good year. To all a joyous holiday season, and the best of new years!!

What a great evening for Prospect Lodge! The evening began with a crisp first section of the Fellow Craft degree for Bro. Randy Mudarri, followed by a traditional Thanksgiving style dinner with all the trimmings. District Deputy Grand Master, R.W. Peter Alan Randall and a full suite of distinguished Masons were received at 8:00 sharp, after which Wor. Stanley Gaw was presented a commendation from the Grand Master for two consecutive years as Master of Prospect Lodge. This was followed by a superb Middle Chamber lecture given by Bro. Stephen Sears. The evening was capped by a very well attended collation in the banquet hall.
October 10, 2006
Once again, the officers of Prospect Lodge performed in an exemplary manner conferring the Entered Apprentice Degree for Bro. Randy Mudarri, who was sponsored by Bro. Gasper Grillo. Wor. Bruce T. Marshall, serving for his third term as Master of Propect Lodge, performed excellent work, as did the Wardens and Deacons. Raphael's of Norwood catered the occasion, serving a traditional Octoberfest meal.

Wor. Bruce T. Marshall was installed as Master of Prospect Lodge by the Hellenic Square and Compass Club Degree Team during a very well attended September Homecoming meeting. The degree team, led by installing Master Wor. Paul Williams, performed superbly. This is Wor. Bruce's third term as Master and based on the success of his previous terms (1994, 1995) we are in very capable hands. All Prospect Lodge members wish Wor. Bruce the very best!
